I have found that the trusts that do their weaponskills right at 1000 TP, instead of holding TP to skillchain with you work best. I usually just take as many variety as I can because you never know which set the NM will be vulnerable to.

Examples include Halver for Polearm, Zazarg or Prishe for H2H, Gilgamesh for GKT. You will have to experiment to find out an complete list of Trusts that WS at 1000 TP.

You can also use Trusts like Volker and Iron Shield as they do provoke, and sometimes JA's stagger them as well. The Dancers that use steps can also be helpful.
